Friday’s Public Affairs Discussion Group to explore the relationship between presidents and the media

In this Friday’s Public Affairs Discussion Group, Jeffrey E. Cohen, professor of political science at Fordham University, will delve into the complex relationship that exists in U.S. politics between presidents and the media.

Cohen’s research has given him insight on the presidency’s relationship with the news as well as presidential leadership’s place in the post-broadcast age. This discussion will examine this in the context of the current presidential campaign.

The discussion, organized by the Center for Policy Studies, begins Oct. 5 at 12:30 p.m. in Kelvin Smith Library’s Dampeer Room. Coffee, beverages and cookies are provided.

Since 1989, faculty, emeriti, students and staff have gathered on Fridays for a brown-bag lunch and to discuss topics in public affairs.
