Friday’s Public Affairs Discussion Group to explore federal budget issues

The federal budget has been a widely discussed and hotly debated issue, particularly in recent months. Join Joseph White, chair of the Department of Political Science, for a discussion on “Making Sense of Nonsense about the Federal Budget,” during Friday’s Public Affairs Discussion Group.

In this discussion, White will provide information and analysis about budget policy, budget politics and how the notion of “responsible budgeting” has been distorted to a point where it encourages irresponsible politics and policy.

The discussion will take place on Friday, Jan. 18, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Dampeer Room of the Kelvin Smith Library.

Since 1989, faculty, emeriti, students and staff have gathered on Fridays for a brown-bag lunch and to discuss topics in public affairs.
