Friday, March 4, is National Employee Appreciation Day: CWRU honors staff and encourages self-care

Dear Case Western Reserve Staff,

Despite the challenges we’ve faced over the past two years, your collective commitment to excellence at Case Western Reserve has enabled this university to continue moving ahead in so many positive ways.

And while we all hope that the worst of this pandemic is behind us—and I believe that it is—it remains important to acknowledge and address the impact it has had on our physical and mental health.

With that in mind, we want to celebrate this year’s National Employee Appreciation Day on Friday, March 4, with a dual focus on self-care and gratitude for our staff employees. After all, no matter how good we may feel, we must take time to tend to ourselves and to share our appreciation for one another.

To that end, we will celebrate National Employee Appreciation Day with:

  • A morning Employee Appreciation Day video message for all employees, presented by Provost Vinson and me;
  • Additional morning self-care events, hosted by Human Resources;
  • An appreciation lunch hosted at the local level within each department—to minimize contact, all lunches will be boxed or wrapped individually;
  • A free day-pass for use at One to One Fitness on March 4 (faculty/staff ID is required); and
  • Early dismissal at 3 p.m.

Once again, thank you for all you’ve done and for all you continue to do. I am truly grateful.

I look forward to celebrating Employee Appreciation Day with all of you on Friday, March 4. In the meantime, be well.

Sincerely,

EWK
