Free seminar on university teaching to be offered in 2021

Graduate students, postdoc scholars/fellows and research scholars considering a career teaching at the university level can sign up for UNIV401, “Advanced Professional Development for University Teaching.” Staff also are welcome to participate.

This seminar course provides an introduction to pedagogical skills for future faculty, and participants will receive a certificate upon completion. There is no charge for this seminar and a free textbook will be provided.

Participants will develop a course, syllabus and lesson plan while learning and practicing effective teaching strategies useful across major disciplines.

This 14-session seminar will take place on Tuesdays from Feb. 2, 2021, through May 4, 2021. Two sections are available: 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. EST. Enrollment is limited to 15 students per section.

Graduate students can register beginning Monday, Nov. 16, via the Student Information System (SIS).

Postdoc scholars/fellows can email postdoc@case.edu for registration instructions and allow time for the application process.
