Free hearing screenings offered throughout October

October is Audiology Awareness and Protect Your Hearing Month. Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center (11635 Euclid Ave.) is offering free hearing screenings to university employees. Screenings can be completed in 10-15 minutes and include a visual inspection of the ear and ear canal, as well as sound sensitivity testing at various frequencies. An audiologist will utilize your screening to help determine if a comprehensive hearing test is needed. Adults under age 50 should have hearing tested every 10 years. Adults over age 50 should have hearing tested every three years.

Screenings are available at the following times:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 5: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 11: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 20: 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 27: 1-4 p.m.
