“The Fourth Trimester: Surviving and Thriving after Baby”

Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to “The Fourth Trimester: Surviving and Thriving after Baby,” a symposium hosted by the Case Western Reserve University Postdoctoral Association Women’s Initiative.

The symposium will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Thwing Center ballroom.

The event will combine real experiences with discussions from experienced practitioners, as well as Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University partners who wish to help pregnant and postpartum women through their journey.

At the event, Postdoctoral Fellow Marie McCausland (GRS ’17, molecular virology) will share her personal story with postpartum preeclampsia.

Topics also will include:

  • Signs and symptoms to look out for postpartum;
  • Racial disparities in health care;
  • FMLA leave and CWRU-specific family leave policies;
  • Work/life balance; and
  • Perinatal depression.

The information discussed will target the entire CWRU and Cleveland community, whether you plan to become pregnant, are pregnant, are a partner or family member, practitioner or a future practitioner.

This event is free and lunch will be provided.
