Forum on proposed Faculty Open Access Policy

The Faculty Senate Committee on University Libraries and the four University Libraries invite faculty to participate in a campus forum about a possible proposed policy on Open Access. If approved, the Faculty Open Access Policy would enable broad dissemination of CWRU faculty-authored scholarly articles while also retaining certain rights for faculty that may otherwise be surrendered in the publication process.

This would not only advance the scholarly reputation and impact of participating faculty, but also fulfill a commitment to the university’s North Star and third Pathway, Achieve Social Impact, which states, “to achieve a deeper impact, we must disseminate our research and teaching more widely beyond our campus…. extending access to our classrooms and scholarship to communities that did not have it in the past.” View a copy of the proposed policy. Forums about the policy will be held: Tuesday, March 23, from 3 to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, March 30, noon from 1 p.m. Interested faculty members only need to attend one session.
