The 2019 Food Symposium will be held Friday, April 26, with events throughout the day. This year’s symposium is themed “Food, Water and Community” and is part of the Cleveland-wide series of events for the 50th anniversary of the last Cuyahoga River fire.
All of the symposium events are supported by a University
Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education Nord Grant and the CWRU Food
Institute, a provost-sponsored Seed Sprint.
10 a.m. to noon Tinkham Veale University food court
Meet CWRU’s hunger- and food-related student groups, University
Farm representatives and local farmers during the Food Market and Activities
Attendees can browse a display of fresh herbs and
microgreens (some will be available for purchase) and enjoy finger foods that
showcase the theme of water and feature resource-friendly cooking options.
Food Symposium Keynote Event—“The Health of Our Lake: Lake Erie Ecology and Fish Consumption”
12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Tinkham Veale University Center Senior Classroom
Tory Gabriel, extension specialist and program manager at
the Ohio Sea Grant College Program, will give a keynote address.
