Flora Stone Mather Center for Women accepting applications for its Faculty Book Award

The Flora Stone Mather Center for Women is accepting applications for its Faculty Book Award through March 31, 2024. The award is available for a faculty member at any level who is working toward completion of a book project. Tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty members are all eligible to apply. The funding is intended to be used for a course buyout in order to free up a portion of the faculty member’s time for writing; applicants will need to provide a cost estimate for a one-course buyout with their application, signed off on by their department chair.

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria: be writing a book in an area related to feminism or gender/gender equity (research on female subjects does not automatically qualify; this can include textbooks), OR be underrepresented in their field on the basis of gender. It is incumbent upon the applicant to create a case for how they meet one or both of these criteria in the application; see specific application instructions and rubric for more information. The application will be submitted in the fall of 2024, for the funding to be used in either the fall or spring semester of the 2024-2025 school year, as agreed upon by the faculty member and their chair and dean.
