On Saturday, April 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hovorka Atrium, First CWRU will hold their First Gen Annual Banquet, an event designed to celebrate the accomplishments of first-generation scholars. The group will be presenting four awards: the Excellence in Mentorship award, Spirit of First Generation award, Extra Mile award and Friend of First-Gen award.
In addition to the awards ceremony there will be food, plus remarks from student speaker Henry Lliguicota-Lema and faculty speaker Jason Buitrago. Anyone is able to attend, including students, faculty and staff.
Tickets are available on CampusGroups at $4 for undergraduate students and $10 for faculty, staff and graduate students. All proceeds from the banquet go to the group’s First Gen Scholarship.
