Fireside Chats with Leading Ladies

In March, the Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative will host a series of fireside chats to honor the contributions of leading ladies in community health, data, nursing and innovation.

The series will consist of four virtual sessions held at noon on Thursdays this month. Register to attend.

The following sessions will be offered.

March 7: “Leading Ladies in Community Health”

Moderated by Constance Hill-Johnson from The Cleveland Foundation, this event will feature the following women:

  • Romona Brazile, executive director of community engagement at MetroHealth;
  • Vickie Johnson, chief community officer at Cleveland Clinic; and
  • Lena Grafton, director of community health engagement at University Hospitals.

March 14: “Leading Ladies in Data”

Moderated by Elizabeth Crowe, director of urban analytics and innovation at City of Cleveland, this session will feature the following women:

  • Valerie Chepp, associate staff and qualitative methodologist at Cleveland Clinic;
  • Sudha Iyengar, professor and vice chair for research in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine; and
  • Erika Trapl, associate professor in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences and director of the Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine.

March 21: “Leading Ladies in Nursing” 

Moderated by Mary Dolansky, the Sarah C. Hirsh Professor at Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, this session will feature the following women:

  • Carol Musil, dean of Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing;
  • Meredith Foxx, chief nursing officer at Cleveland Clinic;
  • Elizabeth Edmiston, chief nursing scientist at Louis Stokes VA Cleveland Medical Center;
  • Holly Ma, system director of nursing education and the Nurse Leader Center at University Hospitals; and
  • Melissa Kline, senior vice president and system chief nurse executive at MetroHealth.

March 28: “Leading Ladies in Innovation” 

Moderated by Monica Robins from WKYC Channel 3, this session will feature the following women:

  • Kendra Gardiner, director of product strategy at UH Ventures; and
  • Linda Li, partner at Cleveland Clinic Ventures.
