October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). The month aims to raise awareness about cybersecurity practices and help keep electronic identities and information safe.
University Technology’s ([U]Tech) Information Security Office (ISO) will promote NCSAM in many ways to remind the entire campus that there are powerful ways to keep our information secure.
For example, the ISO is organizing a contest in partnership with the Association of Computing Machinery, in which members of the campus community can pay a visit to the Spirit Board to look for something “phishy.”
Those who snap a selfie with the “phish” can post to Twitter by using @CWRU_UTech and #phishy to be entered into the contest. The winner will be announced at the ISO Cyber Security Panel Discussion Oct. 21 in the Tinkham Veale University Center.
