Female graduate and doctoral students: Hear from faculty on combatting challenges in academia

All female graduate and doctoral students are invited to join a brown-bag discussion about “Respect, Gender and Age in the Academic Experience.

Facilitated by Corinne Coen, assistant professor of organizational behavior, and Kathleen Kash, professor of physics, the conversation will address questions such as:

  • What are some of the challenges faced by women in higher education?
  • How does one establish an environment of respect as a TA?
  • What’s the best way to respond to gender stereotypes disguised as jokes?

The discussion, sponsored by the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women and Women in Doctoral Studies, will be held Tuesday, March 25, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Spartan Room at Thwing Center.
