Fair Trade for the Holidays sale

Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to start their holiday shopping by supporting a global economy rooted in people-to-people connections, justice and sustainability at the Fair Trade for the Holidays sale.

The Social Justice Institute will host the sale Monday, Dec. 3, and Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center.

At the sale, Ohio Fair Trade and the InterReligious Task Force on Central America (IRTF) will sell fair trade handicrafts and unique jewelry from Columbia, southern Mexico and Central America with prices ranging $4-40.

About fair trade and IRTF

Fair trade standards are the embodiment of social justice, ensuring fair wages and human dignity for producers, community investment, environmental sustainability, and more. Selling fair trade items raises tens of thousands of dollars for poor farm and artisan families in Latin America, ensuring a living wage and allowing their children to remain in school, building a better future for both generations.

The IRTF brought fair trade coffee to Cleveland 20 years ago and is the lead organizer of the Northeast Ohio Fair Trade Network.
