Faculty members to compete in Reaching Heights Spelling Bee to benefit area schools

On Wednesday, April 2, at 7 p.m. at Wiley Middle School, Lynn Singer, deputy provost and vice president for academic affairs; Patrick Crago, professor and associate dean, Case School of Engineering; and Jeff Janata, associate professor of psychiatry, once again will represent Case Western Reserve University in the Reaching Heights Spelling Bee to benefit Cleveland Heights-University Heights schools.

Reaching Heights sponsors an annual community spelling bee for adults, and proceeds from go directly into the Heights school systems through Reaching Heights grants.

The spelling bee, originally scheduled for last month, was rescheduled due to a snowstorm.

Thanks to donor support, their team, UPPER CASE, team is in a good position to again be the top fundraising team.

However, it is not too late to contribute to the team’s goal of raising $1,250. Donations to the UPPER CASE Spelling Bee Team can be made online at crowdrise.com/UPPERCASE-Team or by giving a check (made out to Reaching Heights) to the faculty members or mailing to their campus offices.
