Although most instructors at Case Western Reserve University are aware of the end-of-semester online evaluations that are used to collect feedback about their courses, they might not know about mid-semester options, such as stop-start-continue. These provide feedback at an earlier point in the semester, when there is time to make changes (not necessarily big ones) to support student learning.
The University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education (UCITE) will host a Faculty Fridays session titled “Mid-Term Feedback: Never Too Late!” Oct. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Herrick Room of the Allen Memorial Medical Library.
Nate Howell, assistant professor of biochemistry, will share his experiences of eliciting mid-semester student feedback for the purpose of learning about how they experience his teaching practices, and how to enhance these practices.
