The Social Justice Institute will hold PowerUp!, a student and youth leadership conference, Saturday, April 2, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning in Clapp Hall, Room 108.
After examining the critical task of defining social justice, participants will discuss current issues, study different models used to create systemic change and develop personal action plans to inspire community transformation. Prominent activists in the community will speak and students from the Cleveland School of the Arts will give a spoken word performance.
The conference is free and open to the community.
