Examine how American Muslim book clubs are becoming feminist spaces at Jan. 28 discussion

The Flora Stone Mather Center for Women and the Women’s and Gender Studies program will host the Research and Relaxation Speaker Series on Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Michelson and Morley at the Tinkham Veale University Center.

Justine Howe, assistant professor in the Department of Religious Studies, will lead a discussion on how American Muslim book clubs are emerging as spaces of feminist interpretation and practice among educated, middle-class women.

This event is open to all, but space is limited. RSVP online to attend. Food and beverages will be provided.
