Ethics Table Chat -n- Chew: “The Ethics of Reference Texts in the Internet Age by Way of Their Aesthetics”

The final Ethics Table Chat -n- Chew of the fall semester will be held Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Thwing Center’s Cleveland Room.

Maxwell Barber, a graduating senior in the Department of Philosophy, will present on his project, titled “The Ethics of Reference Texts in the Internet Age by Way of Their Aesthetics.”

His work explores how the aesthetic dimensions of reference texts shape the ethics of knowledge. His main focus is on Wikipedia and its process of knowledge generation. He also addresses the Encyclopedia Britannica.

Coffee and baklava will be provided at the event.
