The Ethics Table brown bag lunch series will continue this week on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

At last week’s meeting, Peter Whitehouse led a discussion around the original meaning of bioethics. Given the direction of last week’s discussion, the topic for this week’s discussion will be the role of emotion in ethics. Is there a form of emotional intelligence in ethics? When one thinks about ethical truths, should motivations matter? What is the place for empathy in ethics? Is empathy ethical or simply neutral?

The discussion lunches take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and now will meet in Meeting Room A of the Thwing Center. Attendees can come for all or part of the time. Attendees should bring their own lunches; coffee and cookies will be served.
