Eric W. Kaler’s presidential inauguration takes place Oct. 15 in Amasa Stone Chapel

Board of Trustees Chair Fred DiSanto announced today that the inauguration of President Eric W. Kaler will take place at 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, in Amasa Stone Chapel.

“We are pleased to have this opportunity to formally welcome Case Western Reserve’s 11th president to our university,” DiSanto said. “Eric already has engaged widely with campus and community leaders, but this ceremony marks a moment to celebrate his arrival and anticipate the institution’s future.”

While the venue’s size will limit in-person attendance, the university also will livestream the event at case.edu/livestream/s2.

“It has been a true privilege to begin meeting students, staff and faculty over the past nine weeks,” President Kaler said. “While Fred and the rest of the search committee clearly conveyed Case Western Reserve’s strengths and potential, these recent conversations have deepened my understanding and offered even more inspiration.”

Kaler’s immediate predecessor in the role, former Interim President (and current trustee) Scott Cowen, and Provost Ben Vinson will speak at the event, which also is expected to feature student performances.

The university will provide additional details regarding inauguration in the near future.
