Since we couldn’t all be on campus this year, the third annual CWRU photo contest is a celebration of all the years.

Send in your favorite photo taken at Case Western Reserve University—regardless of what year it was taken. Submit your entry by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22.

All photo submissions that meet sizing requirements will be uploaded in batches to Facebook between Dec. 23 and Dec. 31, where followers will be asked to vote for their favorite photos until New Year’s Eve.

When voting concludes, grand-prize winners will be announced in each of four categories: Student, Alumni, Faculty and Staff. The photo with the most votes in each category will win a prize from the CWRU bookstore valued at $50. The top 12 photos (top three from each category) will be transformed into computer desktop backgrounds that will be shared with the CWRU community in early January.

The rules are:

  1. You must be a current student, alumnus or employee of Case Western Reserve University to submit a photo.
  2. Photos must have been taken on Case Western Reserve’s campus.
  3. Photos taken from March through December 2020 that include people must show individuals wearing masks properly and social distancing. Photos that do not comply will be excluded from the contest without notice.
  4. Photos must be high-res (at least 1920 pixels wide x 1080 pixels high OR 8 in. wide x 4.5 in. tall, with a 300 dpi resolution).
  5. Participants can only submit ONE photo.
  6. All photos submitted via this contest will become the property of Case Western Reserve University, granting the university approval to use these images within marketing materials, on social media, etc. University Marketing and Communications will make every effort to attribute the photographer on the first use of these images.
  7. Photo content must be appropriate. University Marketing and Communications reserves the right to deny photos for any reason, including, but not limited to: lack of social distancing and masks (in photos taken March–December 2020), inappropriate content, sizing issues, non-CWRU affiliations, etc.

To enter the “CWRU Over the Years” photo contest, submit photo using the submission form by midnight on Dec. 22. Grand prize winners will be notified after the New Year via email or by phone.
