Top colleges put thousands of applicants in wait-list limbo, and some won’t admit any
The Washington Post: Rick Bischoff, vice president for enrollment management, explained the importance of a wait list in the admissions process, and why about 10 percent of each class is filled with qualified students off the wait list. “We love our wait-list kids,” he said. “It’s not that these are sub-par students. These are terrific, terrific kids.”
