William Marling, professor in the Department of English, gave the keynote address at the congress of World Editors: Latin American Literature in the Digital Age.
Given at Schloss Herrenhauser in Hannover, Germany, Marling’s presentation was titled “Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Carmen Balcells: Prospect Theory in the Literary Market.”
The paper was based on his book Gatekeepers: The Emergence of World Literature (Oxford University Press 2016), which won the Nancy Dasher Award for Literary Scholarship in 2018.
