The Christian Science Monitor: Though fans and scholars around the world are celebrating William Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, he wasn’t always revered as important. “People like Robert Greene and Ben Jonson claimed that he stole from others, that he wrote too fast and that his plots were ridiculous,” said Maggie Vinter, assistant professor of English.
