Brad Ricca, full-time lecturer in the Department of English, was named the 2014 winner of the Richard A. Bloom, M.D. Award for Distinguished Teaching in the SAGES Program. The award was established in 2008 to honor exceptional teaching in the SAGES program at Case Western Reserve University.
Ricca was nominated by three students who cited his enthusiasm for the course material, his ability to motivate students to do their best work as writers and his facility with the seminar mode of learning.
“Professor Ricca taught me how to develop an argument and provide evidence in a manner that is not only interesting to the reader, but is interesting to the writer,” one student said.
“Professor Brad Ricca is an exceptional SAGES instructor. He is passionate about teaching,” another said.
