Brad Ricca, a full-time lecturer with the English department, wrote a book that was recently nominated for an Edgar Allen Poe Award for Best Fact Crime. The narrative biography, titled Mrs. Sherlock Holmes: The True Story of New York City’s Greatest Female Detective and the 1917 Missing Girl Case that Captivated a Nation, was published in January 2017. It has since been awarded the Kirkus Star and named as a 2017 True Crime Book for Summer by The New York Times Sunday Book Review.
The winner of the award will be announced at the Mystery Writers of America’s 72nd Gala Banquet Thursday, April 26, in New York City.
