Engineering’s Dean Venkataramanan “Ragu” Balakrishnan speaks about challenges in modern engineering education

Do engineering schools still need classrooms?
Engineeering.com: Dean Venkataramanan “Ragu” Balakrishnan, the Charles H. Phipps Dean of Case School of Engineering, spoke about new challenges in modern engineering education. Among those challenges is “making learning an interactive, collaborative experience, including hands-on activities. You can talk about data and artificial intelligence all you want, but in the end, engineers build things. They fix things. So how do you bring the hands-on experience into the curriculum early? How do you make sure students understand what happens when people work together in teams?”
