Engineering’s Chase Cao writes article published in Advanced Functional Materials

Chase Cao, assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Case School of Engineering, recently wrote an article titled “Rapid Regeneration of Graphite Anodes via Self-Induced Microwave Plasma.”

Published in Advanced Functional Materials, explores an innovative self-induced microwave plasma technology that rapidly regenerates graphite anodes from spent lithium-ion batteries, which can remove the SEI layer and restore the graphite lattice structure within 30 seconds, offering a promising approach for recycling graphite anodes.
