Sen Gupta said that recent disasters put a spotlight on the national shortage of blood—noting that, for now, synthetic blood researchers have to confront the reality that their alternative has to be, at a minimum, as good as the real thing. Meanwhile, French cautioned that even if the science is all there, the way that it shapes society is unforeseeable. |
