Engineering professor conducts workshop in the Philippines on “Technopreneurship and Innovation”

Rigoberto AdvinculaRigoberto C. Advincula, professor of macromolecular science and engineering, worked overseas in the Philippines as part of Visiting Professor Program (VPP) with Philippine Development Foundation in late April.

Advincula is on the board of trustees of the organization.

During his time in the Philippines, he conducted a “Technopreneurship and Innovation” workshop with a program supported by the United States Agency for International Development.

His mission involved teaching faculty and students on technical entrepreneurship for engineering students and helping develop a curriculum for Philippine universities.

The event was held April 18-29 at Ateneo de Davao University in Davao City.

Through the workshop, Advincula aimed to make a difference in the way MS and PhD degrees are viewed in the Philippines.
