Cleveland Magazine: Anthony Jack, assistant professor of cognitive science, philosophy and psychology, is featured in the magazine’s cover story on 20 world-changing ideas growing in Cleveland. Jack’s research realized that people can’t empathize and analyze at the same time. “There’s an immediate hard suppression of these regions, almost like, ‘Well, I’m engaging in empathy now, so just get rid of the analytic,’” he said, “and the same thing the other way around.”
