Dov Hazony, professor emeritus of electrical engineering and computer science, passed away Saturday, June 20, at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was 93.
Hazony, who earned a PhD in electrical engineering from University of California, Los Angeles, taught applied physics and engineering courses and conducted research at Case Western Reserve for 45 years until his retirement in 2004 at age 78.
Hazony published a textbook in 1963, Elements of Network Synthesis; wrote over 70 scholarly articles; and obtained nine patents relating to ultrasound transducers. “He particularly enjoyed working with graduate students and formed lifelong friendships with many of his students,” his family wrote in the obituary.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rina; daughter, Orly Rumberg (Steve); brothers, Yehonathan Hazony (Ruth) and Yitchak Hazony (Linda); and grandchildren, Eliana and Olam Rumberg.
