Emeritus mathematics professor Robert Clark passes; memorial to be held in February

Emeritus Professor Robert A. Clark died Dec. 19 of complications from pneumonia. He was 89.

Clark received his doctoral degree in mathematics from MIT in 1949 and then joined the faculty at Case Institute of Technology (now Case Western Reserve University). Clark retired from Case Western Reserve University in 1985 as a professor emeritus of mathematics and statistics.

Clark is survived by his wife, Jane Crofut Kinder; four stepchildren: Margaret, Sarah, Gordon (Ann Rowland) and John; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 9 at the First Unitarian Church of Cleveland (21600 Shaker Blvd., Shaker Heights).
