Electric and steam shutdowns to affect select building across campus this weekend

Facilities Services will perform electrical and steam shutdowns in various buildings over the weekend.

A steam shutdown will leave the following buildings without heat or hot water from Friday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. to Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11 p.m.:

  • 121 Fitness Center;
  • Adelbert Gym;
  • A.W. Smith Building;
  • Bingham Building;
  • Crawford Hall;
  • Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center/Emerson Gym;
  • Glennan Space Engineering Lab;
  • Nord Hall;
  • Olin Laboratory for Materials;
  • Rockefeller Building;
  • Sears Library;
  • Strosacker Auditorium;
  • Tomlinson Hall
  • White Building
  • Wickenden Building; and
  • Yost Hall.

There will be an electrical shutdown Saturday, Oct. 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The following buildings will be without electricity (back-up generators will be operational) during this period:

  • Nord Hall;
  • Olin Laboratory for Materials;
  • Rockefeller Building;
  • Sears Library;
  • Strosacker Auditorium;
  • Tomlinson Hall;
  • White Building;
  • Wickenden Building; and
  • Yost Hall.

Elevators in these buildings will be out of service from Saturday, Oct. 22, at 8 a.m. to Monday, Oct. 24, at 8 a.m.
