“Effects of Russia’s War in Ukraine: A Firsthand Account from Europe”

The International Studies program at Case Western Reserve University and its Department of History will hold a Zoom session with International Studies alumna Kimberly Osbern (CWR ’21) Thursday, April 7, from 3 to 4 p.m.

Osbern will share her eyewitness account of the effects of Russia’s war in Ukraine on neighboring Moldova and Romania. She will discuss Ukrainian refugees in these countries and their governments’ responses to the war.

Osbern is a Fulbright scholar investigating connections between Moldovans’ language usage choices and their attitudes toward possible unification of Moldova and Romania. She will also share her research and Fulbright application experiences.
