The Plain Dealer: The shale gas boom in the area could provide cheap energy that could cut the cost to produce goods. Energy costs and other factors make the U.S. a more attractive place for manufacturers. “It’s gone from a few anecdotal stories to something that’s measurable now,” said Susan Helper, chair of the economics department.
