EASE@Work offers “budget makeover” tips for the New Year

Faculty and staff: Did you make a New Year’s resolution to give your budget a makeover? Here are some tips from EASE@Work, the university’s confidential employee assistance provider, and thesimpledollar.com on cutting expenses:

  1. Buy fewer books and spend more time at your local library.
  2. Eat out less, borrow a good cookbook, and stock your kitchen well.
  3. Reduce your cable bill by eliminating unwatched premium channels, look at other basic package options or even eliminate cable all together.
  4. Buy less music by listening to music in your collection that you’ve never spent the time to appreciate. (Or, again, try the library.)
