Faculty and staff: Did you make a New Year’s resolution to give your budget a makeover? Here are some tips from EASE@Work, the university’s confidential employee assistance provider, and thesimpledollar.com on cutting expenses:
- Buy fewer books and spend more time at your local library.
- Eat out less, borrow a good cookbook, and stock your kitchen well.
- Reduce your cable bill by eliminating unwatched premium channels, look at other basic package options or even eliminate cable all together.
- Buy less music by listening to music in your collection that you’ve never spent the time to appreciate. (Or, again, try the library.)
