Early Career Research, Visibility, and Publishing Series: “Research Workflow”

Kelvin Smith Library will offer an Early Career Research, Visibility, and Publishing Series for all graduate and PhD students and postdocs to provide insights into successfully navigating the publication process.

Library experts and campus guest speakers will present on best practices for planning research, finding and managing resources, digital tools for analysis, leveraging author rights, open science benefits and expectations, and building scholarly brand. The series consists of one or more in-person sessions per month.

The first installment of the series, titled “Research Workflow,” will be held Friday, Sept. 8, from 2 to 3 p.m. Topics covered during this session will include how to initiate projects, search for information, handle reading, note-taking, and information management, approach collaborative writing, select appropriate publication venues, leverage various tools to streamline these processes, and effective ways to manage time to accommodate academic responsibilities.
