Duo Security to be required for logging in to Box beginning Oct. 31

Beginning Thursday, Oct. 31, at 12:15 a.m., Duo Security will be required to log in to the university’s Box service (cwru.box.com) in the continued effort to increase security for Case Western Reserve University applications. Users enrolled in Duo will experience a similar process logging in to Box as they do for PeopleSoft Financials and PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM).

University Technology ([U]Tech) encourages all campus community members to enroll in Duo using the details below. Users currently using Duo will not need to re-enroll in Duo.

How to enroll

Users can register at the self-service enrolling site at webapps.case.edu/duo/webauth.py before logging into these applications.

About two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication offers an additional security measure to verify your identity in addition to your network ID and password/phrase. Duo Security provides a unique code generated by the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone as the “second factor” (other code-receiving methods are available).
