“Draw the Circle Wide: Celebrating Transgender and Gender Expansive Students in Music Learning Environments”

The Social Justice Institute will host Matthew Garrett, associate professor of music, for the next Social Justice Research Lunch Series event.

Garrett will present “Draw the Circle Wide: Celebrating Transgender and Gender Expansive Students in Music Learning Environments” Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in Crawford Hall, Room A13.

Garrett will lead a conversation about creating equal access to ethically and pedagogically sound education for trans and gender expansive students.

He also will discuss stories of individuals, which will reveal how issues of gender play out in formal and informal learning environments.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch. Drinks and desserts will be provided.

This event is free and open to the public.
