Donate to Thwing Center’s Giving Tree program to support newborns in need

Departments and groups can donate to Thwing Center’s Giving Tree program to help create holiday joy for children who live in the Greater Cleveland area and use the services of the Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services Inc.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, wish list items will focus on newborns this year. The Giving Tree’s wish list includes the following items:

  • Diapers—newborns or size 1
  • Wipes
  • Baby wash and lotion
  • Onesies (T-shirt type) sizes 0-3, neutral colors (anything but blue or pink)
  • Sleeper onesies
  • T-shirts
  • Receiving blankets
  • Packaged toys (i.e. rattles, pacifiers, books)
  • Socks
  • Bibs
  • Hats
  • Heavier blankets
  • Bottles
  • Hand mittens (to prevent scratching faces)

You can help by donating the above items (unwrapped). Drop them off in the CWRU Thwing Center Atrium (take to the Service Counter) and ask that the person at the desk notify Terri Geiger to pick up the items. Donations in the form of cash or a check payable to CWRU are also appreciated; Thwing Center staff will use the donations to purchase the needed items on the wish list. The Giving Tree project begins today (Nov. 16) and will continue through Monday, Dec. 7.
