Alpha Chi Omega’s Domestic Violence Awareness Week is Oct. 10-14, and events will be happening across campus throughout the week.
A bake sale will be held Oct. 10-14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Nord Hall atrium. All donations go to the Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy Center of Greater Cleveland. Additionally, the table will be stocked with sign-up sheets for a kickball tournament as well as informational materials.

Monday, Oct. 10
Self-Defense Class with CWRU Police Department
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Carlton Commons
Sergeant Jeffery Daberko from the Rape Aggression Defense program will present basic self-defense techniques for males and females. Find more information on Facebook.
Tuesday, Oct. 11
Wear Purple Day
Honor the survivors of domestic violence and celebrate the steps taken to stop domestic violence by wearing purple. The women of Alpha Chi Omega will distribute ribbons on the Kelvin Smith Library oval throughout the day. Check the Facebook event for more details.
Wednesday, Oct. 12
Hidden Voices Vigil
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Outside Fribley and Leutner Commons
Hear the stories of both victims and survivors, and light a candle in their honor. Hot chocolate will be provided. Learn more online.
Friday, Oct. 14
Kickball Tournament
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Freiberger Field
A kickball tournament, featuring competitive and non-competitive brackets, will be held at Freiberger Field. Food, raffles and music will be provided for participants and spectators. The entry fee is $50, and registration is required by Wednesday, Oct. 12. Register online.
