QGrad, Case Western Reserve University’s graduate and professional LGBTQIA+ group, invites the university community to attend and present at its “Doing Intersectionality” Symposium Thursday, April 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Thwing Center ballroom.
The symposium seeks so celebrate LGBTQA+ centered work and the people that create it.
Individuals can submit art, research, spoken word, any LGBTQIA+ themed pieces, and any work that shows how intersectional perspectives are used in daily life. Cash prizes will be awarded at the event.
The event aims to provide an educational space to discuss the power of intersecting identities as a theoretical model as well as a tool in social change where different groups might meet. One of QGrad’s goals is to educate the public and to perhaps have them advocate for a more intersectional approach all facets of life.
The deadline to register is April 26 at 11:59 p.m.
