Division of Student Affairs recognizes outstanding staff members, programs

The Case Western Reserve University Division of Student Affairs held its annual Spring Retreat May 17. At this retreat, division staff members and programs were recognized for their outstanding contributions, achievements and campus impact.  

Awards were presented in the following categories:

  • Outstanding Achievement Award (Professional Staff Member);
  • Outstanding Achievement Award (Support Staff Member);
  • Department or Program Collaboration with a Positive Campus Impact;
  • Department or Program Best Demonstrating School and Community Pride; and
  • Department or Program Fostering the Goal of Diversity & Inclusion.

Outstanding Achievement Award (Professional Staff Member)

  • Adrian Griffin, assistant director of the Center for Civic Engagement and Learning
  • Melanie Scanlon, associate director for leadership in the Office of Student Activities and Leadership

Outstanding Achievement Award (Support Staff Member)

  • Alyssa Register, recruitment coordinator at the Career Center

Department or Program Collaboration with a Positive Campus Impact

  • Community Engagement and Career Development Series
  • The Cultural Festival Series (featuring Mid-Autumn Festival, Lunar New Year and  Holi)—The events were attended by over 3,000 students. The series was a collaboration between First-Year Experience, International Student Services and the Office of Multicultural Affairs, and co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost.

  • Diversity 360, spearheaded by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, but including facilitators from Greek Life, Student Activities and Leadership, Residence Life, the Center for Civic Engagement and Learning, the Career Center, and many other campus partners.
