The Case Western Reserve University campus community will have another opportunity to provide feedback on the external review report on the university’s diversity and inclusion efforts at an open forum on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center, ballroom C.
The upcoming forum is the third and final one in a series of discussions sponsored by the Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity (OIDEO) to gather feedback on the university’s External Review Report and Recommendations. The first forum was held in May and the second one in June.
The review report was commissioned by the OIDEO as part of the development of the 2016-2019 Diversity Strategic Action Plan (DSAP). A three-member team of diversity leaders from other universities visited the campus last February to assess CWRU’s progress in achieving its equity, diversity and inclusion goals. While on campus, the team met with various groups and constituents from across the campus. The review report details some of the themes from those conversations and also offers recommendations for next steps.
In addition, during the upcoming forum, the university community can offer suggestions for items to include in the DSAP or provide general comments about campus diversity and inclusion efforts.
The forum is open to the entire campus community and individuals are strongly encouraged to review the external report before attending the forum. The report is available to the CWRU community on the bottom portion of the OIDEO homepage at case.edu/diversity/diversityreport/.
Also on the website are written responses to the External Review Team from the CWRU Staff Advisory Council. Individuals can also provide feedback about the report online by sending their comments to diversity-virtual-forum@case.edu.
