Dive into the structure of masculinity in videogames during Nov. 15 presentation, discussion

The Flora Stone Mather Center for Women at Case Western Reserve University will present its annual Program on Masculinity and Gender Nov. 15 to examine the structure of masculinity in videogames.

Derek Burrill, associate professor of media and cultural studies at the University of California, Riverside, and author of the book Die Tryin’: Videogames, Masculinity, Culture, will give the main presentation. An open forum discussion will follow.

“Gamer-friendly” food—wings, mozzarella sticks and more—from the Jolly Scholar will be provided to all attendees.

The event will take place Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Strosacker Auditorium and is free and open to the public. RSVP is not required.
