Students are invited to join a faculty panel for a discussion about Islam in current events on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 8:30 p.m. in Thwing Center, Room 201.
Pete Moore, associate professor of political science, Justine Clites, of the religious studies department, and Joshua Stacher, professor of international studies at Kent State University, will address and discuss the religious and political basis of ISIS and other terrorist groups that have recently emerged.
There are many misconceptions about Islam’s role within these groups, so the panel will clarify and answer any questions attendees have about this prominent issue. Students are encouraged to participate in the dialogue and enjoy free Middle Eastern snacks and desserts.
