Discuss grandmothers and caregiving at upcoming event

Carol Musil, the Marvin E. and Ruth Durr Denekas Professor of Nursing, will facilitate the fourth session of the Spring 2014 Salon series, “Dialogue and Discourse for 20th Century Women,” a discussion about grandmothers, caregiving, families and transitions.

The event will take place Wednesday, April 23, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the home of Sue Berlin (13900 Shaker Blvd. #1210, Cleveland).

Musil’s research focuses on stress, health and caregiving. For the past 17 years, Musil has studied, longitudinally, the physical and psychological health of grandmothers, especially those raising grandchildren, and how factors such as resourcefulness and support affect the grandmother’s health and family well-being especially during times of strain and transitions. She takes a multi-generational view of families, and has included grandmothers and their grandchildren in her research.

Online registration is required.
